Keynote Spotlight: ECEC Directors Radha Mohan & Kathlyn McHenry

We are so excited to have Radha Mohan and Kathlyn McHenry from the Early Care and Education Consortium (ECEC) join us for our 2022 SHIFT Childcare Leaders Conference as our industry keynotes!

As the Executive Director of ECEC, Radha creates strategic alliances, develops political messaging and drafts legislative solutions to advocate for strong federal and state policies that bring quality early education programs to scale. Radha's work on behalf of childcare providers has influenced policy solutions that made their way into the American Rescue Plan and the American Families Plan.

Director of State Government Relations Kathlyn McHenry also deploys advocacy strategies, but at the grassroots level. She works closely with ECEC members to align their interests into a synchronized approach for engagement and coordinates on-the-ground advocacy efforts in statehouses across the country. As key debates on education policy unfold in political arenas, Kathlyn can be found at their epicenter, advocating for the needs of early care providers.

At SHIFT, this advocacy dream team will discuss the importance of both formal and informal advocacy and how childcare providers can get involved and make the biggest impact at the state level to help fight for necessary funding for the industry in order to better support your staff and families.

ECEC is a non-profit alliance of childcare providers, state childcare associations, and premier educational service providers representing 6,500+ programs in 48 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
